The colourful life and times of Len Lye, the one-of-a-kind artist and film-maker who pursued a philosophy of 'Individual Happiness Now,' is now the subject of a 21st century opera.
It will be presented 5th - 8th September 2012
at the Maidment Theatre, Auckland.
This will be multi-media production with broad appeal for anyone interested in music, the visual arts, theatre or film, or who is simply curious about the extraordinary life of Len Lye.
LEN LYE the opera will be produced by a team of award-winning artists:
composer Eve de Castro-Robinson,
writer Roger Horrocks, musical director Uwe Grodd,
stage director Murray Edmond,
designer Tracey Collins, and
digital image maker Shirley Horrocks (of Point of View Productions).
The opera will have a cast of top national and international singers and musicians
